Announcements
·Batter
up! Join other LMC youth and adults for a fun afternoon of softball this afternoon at 1:00 PM. All skill levels are welcome.
Games will begin around 1 PM at MadisonMeadowsPark
(east of the church, on the corner of Madison and Ahrens Ave).
·Our International Gift Sale is this Friday
and Saturday (Aug 15-16), from 10 AM – 4 PM in the Fellowship Hall. All
proceeds from the sale go to Global Family Program, Mennonite Central
Committee’s program to help children get education around the world. Please tell
your friends and neighbors and stop by to shop yourselves. Alta still needs
some helpers on Saturday; please contact her if you’re available.
·Our
church flourishes as each of us contributes our gifts in significant ways.
We’re grateful to Charles Unruh and Pete Graber for installing a new
drainage pipe by the parking lot entrance on Monday (in the rain). Charles also
returned on Thursday to help install a sump pump in the elevator pit.
·Bad bulletin poetry is back. (Psst: run for the
hills.) Summer is almost over
No, I do not jest
But at least we’ll have a party
It’s known as SummerFest We’ll eat and talk, swim and sing
At the Richer home out west
Play games ‘til dark, eat some more
Homemade ice cream is the best.
What’s one of the best things about SummerFest on
August 24 at 4:00 PM? No poetry readings. A flyer with more
information is in your mailboxes; hope to see you there!
·Congratulations
to Jill McHugh, who had a busy week.
On Wednesday, her son Mike and his wife Heidi welcomed a newborn daughter. Joe,
her other son, and Crystal Langys were
married on Friday. Congratulations Jill!
